Went to see Marguerite last night, and caught James doing the role of Otto, and rather good i thought he was.

Didn't rate the musical much (and I love Michel Legrand - check out Jack Jones sings the songs of if you want some real class), but was rather swooned by James. Was sitting four rows from the front and found the sound a bit off, couldnt differnetiate the voices, must be a sign of age.

Must be something to do with memories of Harry on the boat..(leather trousers, .....)

how does Alexander Hansen play it? Similar different?

HI, have seen both of them and definately prefer Alex. He doesn't shout as much as James, he's plays it quietly and comes acros as more menacing. I find that James appears to be a bitof a bully. Thought he was going to break Ruthies neck last night!

Hi abalafae! I am going to the matinee performance tomorrow, do you know which Otto I am going to get? I am quite curious to see how James plays the part.

I was at the Wednesday matinee (27th) and Alex was on in the first act but changed over to James in the second act. When the announcement was made I thought I may be let down, but he was brilliant and even out performed Alex in several parts in my opinion, especially in the song when Ruthie writes her letter.

Yeah I agree that James seems to be a bit of a bully... but I really liked that. I think it enables us to feel more sympathetic towards Marguerite and understand why she is so trapped and can't leave... Worked for me.

Saw James again tonight, he's really improved through the week. Am really starting to ejoy his performance although missing alex now. Hope he gets better soon!
