She has already done two performances and she was excellent in both, so not sure I understand your question?

Saw her 1st night last Monday & she was brilliant. Really looking forward to seeing her again , she looked very natural & very comfortable on the Palladium stage. Anyone who goes to see SOM & gets to see Aoife , Connie or Sophie should not be disappointed as all 3 are excellent in their own way. Have to see though Aoife was my favourite.

Are you suggesting that HDYSAPLM? got the answer wrong? And if Connie wasn't the best candidate, maybe there might be someone even better than Aoife out there that didn't get a look in?

I too went to see Aoife's first night on the 16th April and thought she was fabulous!
Already planning to go back and see her again.
There are certain aspects to Aoife's performance that I prefer to Connie's, however I do like Connie too!. Although I must say I think Aoife has the edge at the mo for me!........
If anyone else has been to see Aoife in SOM, have you noticed that the accent she uses sounds remarkably at times like Connie?!.......... OR is it just me?.......

i went to see SOM the other week and i have to say i was hugely impressed with Aoife. I booked the tickets before connie dropped the performances and to be honest i was not really excited about seeing connie - i do think she is good, but her performances always seemed to be rather forced. So i have to agree with you, Aoife has the edge.

Aoife - Sound Of Music review
"Her voice [Aoife], is just as I remember Maria, which would be as Julie Andrews played her in one of my favourite childhood films, honest, genuine, heartfelt and passionate, and her songs were pitch-perfect." wrote Megan Reynolds of the Guardian.
I saw Aoife a few weeks ago in The Sound Of Music and she was FANTASTIC, I have been lucky enough to see Aoife, Connie and Sophie (when she was there) playing the part and although each has strengths and weaknesses (I thought Connie was very good) and people will have their favourites, Aoife for me acted the part better, was more sympathetic to the story and more 'magical' on the night. Her voice is very lovely but also it was strong all night, she has come on a huge amount since being in HDYSAPLM, as has Connie!
I also hear from someone that was in the BBC audience on the forthcomming BBC1 Christmas special - 'When Joseph met Maria' Aoife was absolutely fantastic, looked stunning and along with Abi and Siobhan really sang well and gave it everything!
I hope Aoife goes on from the Sound OF Music when she finishes in February to some other big part, she really is talented!

Indeed aoife is very very talented. In addition to her lovley voice she is also an excellent actress.
She was also great in Chicago!
If you are lucky enough to sit near the front..watch her facial expressions! They are as magical as her voice.
Her recent gig at the 100 club in London was very good and it was lvoely to hear her singing something different! She is very versatile.
I hope she gets something big after SOM too!

Does anyone know what Aoife has lined up next after she leaves the Sound of Music in a couple of weeks?
Are rumours of the Evita tour (to be found just clicks away in the Musicals Forum lol) just that or are they likely to come to fruition?

Went to see Aoife last Monday night in the SoM. Specifically wanted to see her and not Summer or Connie for that matter. And I must admit I wasn't disappointed. Excellent performance both in terms of singing and acting and I can now see why ALW rates her so highly. Will be interested to see what big role she takes next. Maybe she'll play the lead in Chess if it comes to the West End....

Saw her last night (Friday 23 May), and I was really very moved by her performance, especially here scenes with the Captain in Act 2.
And I must applaud her utterly for keeping her head when Gretl made an unscheduled exit offstage during the children's first appearance!

Does anyone know when Aoife is finishing up in the SoM and any ideas on what she's got lined up next? Having seen her a couple of times in the SoM I'd be surprised if she wasn't given another major role in the West End.

I suppose there is a chance she will extend, but until then this is her last date....

This is interesting as it happened again on Wednesday, only it was her entrance was a problem as she didnt come down the stairs with the other children. Summer covered it well aswell by pretending she was off hiding off stage and then brought her in, so maybe it's been choreographed like that for the moment? Hmm...
I really must get around to see Aoife, I've heard amazing things about her but as a Summer fan, I don't know if I can see anyone else in the role

Trust me you won't be disappointed with Aoife-she was brilliant when we saw her for second time on Wednesday afternoon during half term!
She's just so natural and looks like she's having a ball on stage ..whether its with the children or the lovely moments with the Mother Abbess.... she almost managed to keep her face straight when a young member of the audience cried "yuk" and "are they finished yet!" during her clinch with the Captain!!
We hope to see her again before she finishes in August. She's a SUPERB Maria!! Don't miss her!!

Oh, I know Aoife will be amazing. I've heard so many good things about her that I really do want to see her before she goes. It's just I'm a little bit wary as I've grown to love the show because of Summer. I was never a SoM fan before so I'm just a little nervous about seeing it without Summer. I'm sure I'll love it though, I'm just being a little bit silly hee. And don't worry, I definitely see Aoife before she leaves.

Hi there,
For those of you that are interested Aoife has just released a C.D from her concerts in Galway earlier on this year....
Quote from website....
"Aoife’s “Live from Galway” CD is now available for purchase. It includes lots of favourites from Chicago, Chess and a bit of pop and jazz thrown in for good measure. All of the musical numbers are linked together with anecdotes from Aoife’s career to date, some of which are included on the CD."
If you would like to purchase it just go to Aoife's website www.aoife-mulholland.com and follow the links....

I saw her and she was absolutely amazing. I later on saw Summer and thought she was even better. It might be because I am a huge Strallen fan and I have got Summer and Scarlett's autgraphs. I think Aoife was an amazing Maria and thought she should have come third in How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria. I think Helena deserved to come second but I thought Siobhan should have won. Anyway well done Aoife you were amazing!

Any news on whether Aoife has extended her stay in Chicago? Went to see the show last night and she was enchanting. Probably not the most appropriate way of describing her performance but she was really excellent and if she extends I'll definitely try and see her again. Think she captures the role of Roxie superbly. And does anyone know if her CD has music from Chicago on it? And where can I find it? It's not on Amazon......Thanks

I've seen Chicago at least five times and Aoife is by far my favourite Roxie.
Unfortunately the cast she's with (Ian Kelsey and Brenda Edwards) leave something to be desired. At least Annette McLaughlin isn't back too; I absolutely couldn't stand her as Velma. But maybe I've just been spoiled by Amra-Faye Wright.

Just incase anyone wants to watch too!....
Aoife will be on BBC Breakfast in the morning (22nd December) to talk about the Von Trapp family home being turned into a Hotel.... I think its due to broadcast between 8 and 9 am....
Aoife will be on the BBC Brekkie sofa for an interview and I think there may also a report from Salzburg that she did a couple of months back....
Happy watching!

Is Aoife still in Chicago and if so, does anyone know how long for?
I guess she's likely to take over from Connie in the SoM tour. When is Connie due to finish and is the tour going to Ireland. Would probably make sense to cast Aoife for the Irish tour as I'm sure she's got plenty of fans over there.......

I am a real fan of Connie Fisher and SOM, but I have to say having seen Aofie Mulholland in both SOM and Chicago that she is a brilliant actress, and won me over certainly. She was a great alternate Maria, and absolutely sexy Roxie, and will certainly watch again any show she is in.
I was very dissapointed in Andrew Webbers decision not to give her the main role in Sound of Music when Connie left, she was certainly miles better that Summer Strallen. If Connie has to pull out of Sound of Music tour owing to her vocal cord operation, I certainly hope the production has the sence to go out to get Aofie back. From Sexy Roxie to singing nun, and back vice versa, thats the versatality of a brilliant talant :-))
