As sad as I was to find out that my fave G(a)linda ever, Dianne Pilkington, is leaving I am already thinking about who I would love to see as the next G(a)linda! I thought of Scarlett Strallen as she showed interest of the role when she was Mary! I would love to see her and I think she would be a perfect G(a)linda! Does anyone agree or even think it might be possible she might go up for an audition? tongue.gif unsure.gif

To be fair, it is to my knowledge that she isn't confirmed to be leaving. Rather it is a rumour which whilst I believe to be true, is extremely sad. I personally can't see scarlett strallen as Glinda. I can't imagine her being able to squeakify her voice and be able to maintain her tone and talent. Thats my two cents anyway.

Maintain her talent?

I think she'd be perfect, the role doesn't require a squeaky voice, Dianne Pilkington has mostly dropped the voice that dogged her first year with the company. Scarlett's got a beautiful soprano and is a wonderful actress.

Last time I saw Dianne she was very squeaky. It is a part of her role to have such a voice. I never said that Scatlett wasn't talented just that I can't see her in the role. I can't see her being able to maintain that 'beautiful soprano' as well as the other requirements of the role.

Dianne Pilkington is leaving? Yay. Finally. I know loads of people love her, but I've never liked her as Glinda. It'll be nice to see a new interpretation of the role.
