Wish i was. Unfortunately can't make any of her Shaw performances though she did mention in a radio interview that she wants to take it on tour as it has sold so well so far.

Fun fun show. Not thrilled with all of her song-choices, but it was an excellent performance.

People that know me will know that I am not exactly a fan of Kerry Ellis. I always felt that she is a great singer but extremely lacking in the acting department. So for the first time ever I completely enjoyed a performance by her.

I thought she sounded brilliant and am really glad that I went last night. I loved the Annie Lennox medley and loved all of the second 'act' of the show. The only thing I wasn't really overly impressed by, were her choices in the Musical Medley. I loved Lost in Translation, but could have done without the ALW songs. She sounded great singing them but I would have expected something a bit more original than Don't cry for me Argentina and Memory, but that's just me. Overall I had a great time though.

And I have to say, I will never diss her 15 year old fangirls again (or at least not for a while :-) ) We had the most obnoxious idiots sitting behind us that were constantly shouting "You're Wicked" and "We love you Kerry" and they were grown men in at least their 40s.  rolleyes.gif

Oh God, they bugged me too. It as vaguely amusing the first time but argh, shut up! In general though, the audience were brilliant. Kerry was clearly so touched, it made me happy. smile.gif

There are a few reviews floating about, I love that the critics seem to love her too. I really can't wait to see what she does next.

I so wish I could be there. Damn living so far away!

Can anyone give me a brief run down of what she sang?

Ugh, they drove me nuts.  I was surprised FOH didn't tell them to shut up, especially when they stood up and were just ... hooting.

Great show, though.  She really seemed happy up there.

Kerry was sublime and I was very proud of being a Kerry Ellis fan.

The most important thing for me with this show was this was Kerry Ellis, not Brian May's Kerry Ellis or Wicked Kerry Ellis but Kerry doing what she does best with no wall to hide behind. Yes, I know it was scripted and yes I know she was nervous but as far as I'm concerned, she did everything right. Her song choices were spot on, her outfit worked great (even though those shorts were VERY short and that jacket very sparkly, lol) good job she has killer legs!! And the strength and energy she brought to the stage worked great, not to mention her voice was just outstanding... Her entrance was a little cheesy but it worked, she made it work and the crowd loved it. The only things I didn't like were the Coldplay bits and the Bond bits, that's me though not Kerry, I just don't like those songs! Not even her beautiful voice can make me....

The highlights for me were twofold, hearing her sing Annie Lennox (I'm a long time fan) and The Feelings Without You were both amazing but for me the best song of the night belong to Craig Adams. I saw Lift back as part of Perfect Pitch and thought it had a hell of a lot of potential but loved the song the French teacher sung, turns out it was Lost in Translation. She sounded exquisite and made it her own (even though I'd heard both Julie Atherton and Jennifer Tierney sing it previously). Musical theatre is great and wonderful and all of that gushing stuff but this song had something else, it was written like a pop song in its meaning and melodies but had an edge to it that transcended musical theatre and for me, made the night. That is one very talented guy she’s got MD-ing for her if he can write like that, not only did she sound great singing it she made me want to go out and buy it.. I’d buy a whole CD of the concert in a heartbeat but that song, it totally won my soul! (and from what I hear I’m not the only one, it seems a lot of people are obsessed with it). Kerry Ellis you did yourself proud!

Urrghhhh! I am not looking forward to that on Thursday. I hope they all ran out of money so won't be there on Thurs/Fri.

This show sounds amazing! Looking forward to it smile.gif
