It should be announced in the next few months

This is coming over from Santa Fe http://www.operawest.com/index.php?option=...81&Itemid=9

And Catherine Malfitano is doing a new Tosca – I kid you not!

That’s all I know

and a revial of the christopher aldern's excellent production of the makropulos case with amanda roocroft :-)
“The staff are really exited too. Everyone’s giving me a little, doing a little that, when I walk past in the corridor, eyebrow raise thing, when usually they look away.”

Details will be at www.whatsonstage.com/opera soon after.

Eerie for me about the Janacek, as was stood in the bar at ENO last saturday saying how great it would be if someone did that opera, as have a distant memory of a televised production from Glyndebourne or the Royal Opera some years back.

Looking forward to Tosca and the Handel too. Have heard on the grapevine there will be a co-production of an obscure Polish opera coming from Bregenz.

Season is announced up until December 2009:

Le Grand Macabre
Rigoletto (Jonathan Miller's production)
Turandot in a new production by Rupert Goold
Turn of the Screw: return of 2007 production
Duke Bluebeard's Castle/The Rite of Spring: former directed by Daniel Kramer who did Punch and Judy at Young Vic
The Messiah: directed by Deborah Warner

Good to see only 2 revivals of old productions, and an interesting combination of director and opera with Turandot.

Some really good stuff coming up

I can't wait for Messiah, Katya, Idomeneo and the two Bel Canto's.

Turandot should look amazing. Unsure about the cast though

Does anyone know anything about the Elergy for Young Lovers?

ENO under Gardener is doing brilliant rolleyes.gif

I was at the Barbican on Tuesday night and in Toby Spence's biography it said his future plans included his first Faust at ENO............so I was very disappointed that it wasn't on the list. Can only assume it will be in the 2010-11 season instead.

Does anyone have a link to the full press release please? Many thanks
