BBC News Article

John Inman has passed away aged 71. Sad, sad news - a gentleman actor who always made me chuckle both onstage and television. sad.gif

I never saw him on the stage but he was wonderful on TV.

I'm free....

RIP John

John Inman really did add to the sense of fun in the nation's life, though the 'right on' brigade predicatably demurred. Not surprising that the po-faced Guardian had a sour article this week.

Favourite John Inman moment?

Probably the pantomime episode when the staff are trying (in vain) to find a tuffet strong enough to support Mrs Slocombe in the part of Little Miss Muffet. Captain Peacock suggests helpfully:

'I think there's a 12 inch pouf in soft furnishings.'

To which Mr Humphries replied:

'I'd have thought he'd have been better off in novelties!'

Happy days.
