Im going to London soon with a friend and we're kinda at a loose end with this show. I hated the soundtrack and never saw the film lol. She thinks its the best thing thats ever been made.

I can't find an honest review of this show anywhere. Is it worth seeing?

If you are on a hen night then yes.

If you're not why don't you go and see something like Avenue Q.

Lol its not a hen night...But she isn't into something like comedy unfortunately. She knows its on and WANTS to go see it, either that or Grease. And a family member of mine saw Grease a couple of weeks ago and was majorly disappointed by it. For the amount of TV time it took up, it apparently was not worth it. And I trust this opinion so I will be standing my ground on that one.

But I've just been watching the promo videos on the Dirty Dancing website and it looks a million times better than Grease. Since I haven't seen either show or film for that that matter I just want to know if those who have seen both would recommend one over the other.

ANYTHING would be a million times better than Grease! (the current production)
Dirty Dancing tries to replicate the film as much as possible. I enjoyed the film AND the show although don't expect anything original.

I personally think that the current production of dirty dancing tried to replicate the film TOO much! I enjoyed the film too and think it is a very difficult production to transfer to the stage and I felt that it showed and thought there was an air of desperation about the stage production. It just felt a bit like an amateur karaoke evening. I haven't seen Grease so I can't compare but I don't intend to either as I can imagine that it is even worse than dirty dancing.

The grease production is exactly the same as the dominion productions a few years ago. The sat looks so unbelievably tired. The US production got a new set this time around, why can't we??, although i have heard that is also nothing special

Dirty Dancing is a great night out (mainly for women though I think).

Possibly one of the worst shows in london at the minute. lots and lots of pre recorderd music, hardly any songs, pretty shoddy to be fir, looks a bit like a tour of grease and fame, shabby, cheap and cack! and as for grease!! dont get me going! lol
