I just wondered which shows and/or songs have a strong meaning for people?

That was worded very badly, I apologise.

It's worded fine. Don't worry.

I have a lot of songs that mean a lot to me - they have associations with memorys, good and bad, with events with people.

As a show Phantom of the Opera is close to my heart as it's the show that sparked my interest in theatre.

Not sure about song - I don't really want to single one out.

I won't be called a baggage!

There aren't really any sentimental shows that appeal to me, because if an entire show is sentimental I find it overpowering. There are some individual songs that have a particular sentimental appeal:

When The Children Are Asleep (Carousel)
A Man and a Woman (110 in the Shade)
Something About You (The Match Girls)
She Touched Me (Drat! The Cat!)
All At Once You Love Her (Pipe Dream)
In My Own Little Corner (Cinderella)
Jimmy (Thoroughly Modern Millie)
My Funny Valentine (Babes In Arms)

I'll probably think of more later.
In my opinion anyone interested in improving himself should not rule out becoming pure energy.

Children And Art
Younger Than Springtime
Move On
Every Tear A Mother Cries
One More Kiss
Soliloquy (Carousel)
No One Is Alone
I'm Still Smiling
Like It Was

[Rolf Harris voice ON] Can you make out what it is it yet? Can you see the pattern? [OFF]

Ooh, that Bernadette Shaw - what a chatterbox!

smile.gif Just some of those titles make me want to throw up. Don't mind me (as if). I don't like musicals, on the whole.

If it comes to songs that make you want to throw up, "The Prince is Having a Ball" from Cinderella is one such. Each time I hear it I want to dig up Rodgers and Hammerstein's corpses and slap them around a bit for inflicting that dreadful number on the world. Some numbers are good for leading into the interval, some are good for picking up after the interval, but if ever there was a number that should be performed during the interval it's that one. In other respects Cinderella is a lovely show, but what in all of heaven and earth were R+H thinking when they came up with that?

I said I'd think of another number I love, and Orchestrator's reminded me of Carousel's Soliloquy.

Glad to see people replying! Thanks! Some good choices. I'm sure you can all guess which show has the most sentimental value for me! I mention practically whenever I can on here!
