I saw it on the first night of the tour at the Mercury, Colchester, a few weeks ago ... a first night postponed for a day because it wasn't ready. It wasn't really ready on the rearranhed first night either for Warren Mitchell, although he has played Mr Green several times before, was still unsure of his lines and needed about half a dozen prompts. In a two-hander, that must have been disconcerting for his fellow actor, the valiant Mr Sturzaker.
Don't let me put you off, though. I'm sure that by the time it gets to Coventry, it should be well run in.
By the way, I'm reading a biography of Ian McKellen and it was at the Belgrade that he took his first steps on the professional ladder.
