More Americano in a single set LA talkie featuring 3 characters...

Well acted, but with honours going to Herb (Stuart Fox) who gives us a perfect impression of a grizzly Harrison Ford (current day, not Bladerunner). His daughter (pro debut) was gud but 1D and armed with an unconvincing youthful bounciness which didn't sit comfortably with her premature bout of middle age.

The appartment set was ok without adding much - it came across as a USA sitcom with snappy, clever dialogue & witty one liners which amused rather than made one laugh and lacked a true undercurrent of character depth so you listened and watched with nil great feeling.

Whilst it didn't drag on occasion per se, there was a degree of predictability as to how scenes would unfold - so maybe an element of imaptience crept in.

It was at it best either side of the interval when the daughter melted (chilled!) slightly and a degree of warmth 'tween her n Daddy surfaced.

The Hollywood/Movies side of things seemed a bit dated - plenty of films have taken the p*** out of the industry/agents, etc since - but the human bits were poignant at times (absent Pater, ex's who haven't come to terms with each other since their split, fear of subsequent committment) and may well resonate afterwards depending on yr personal degree of recognition of such events.

3/5 -worth seeing if you do, you won't be culturally deprived if you don't (if that makes sense)
