Hi,
i'm trying to find work experience in a London theatre for the summer, i've read information online which says that it's much better to send the letter to the actual person you want to receive it rather than just "Dear Sir/Madam" therefore i'm trying to find out the names of theatre managers at all the main west end theatres. I've had a look on some of the shows websites but i can't find a name :/
Can anyone help me, either by knowing some of the managers names or advising me where i can find out.
Thanks smile.gif

one of my friends called all the theatres' stage doors to get the name of the theatre managers, which worked. you can get the numbers out of the book contacts. also, it's normally printed in the back of the program for a show

The best thing i found was looking in the programmes of all the recent shows i had seen (which was alot to choose from) but most of them didnt accept on insurance grounds and others didn't give me a reply but this 5/6 years ago now and i was 16.
"How dare they try to end this beauty!?!?"

Best to find out first who is actually responsible for work expereince placements in the theatre you apply to. Most of the the larger companies have a designated education person and it's nothing to do with the theatre manager.

Although a lot of West End theatres will take people for work experience, you have to be at least 18. Also I think it helps if you have student Equity, which you can apply for if you are studying a theatre related course at a university or drama school. It may not have any bearing on their decision, but it's worth including your equity name and number.
