Has anyone seen David Shannon as The Phantom yet?

I have seen him, he is okay but probably needs more time to make the role his own.

I saw him last week... Very good portrayal of the character, very good actor in that, despite being a natural critic, I forgot who I was watching and just got caught up in the show - despite the show having stopped RIGHT BEFORE the title song! I don't think many people will remember him as the phantom they saw, but they will remember a very good show.

Does anyone know why the standby Phantom who was highly praised by Mark Shenton when he caught him when he first started (Nigel Richards I think) has been replaced?

I didn't know he was. Who is the new one then?
Sorry, that's not any help to you, but I'm just curious ;-)

Never did find out - but there were definite hammering sounds from behind the curtain, so I'd guess one of the bits of automated set didn't respond properly? Once they restarted I didn't spot anything missing, so presumably it all fired up properly on the second attempt.
