The highlight looks to be the SRB/Fiona Shaw pairing in London Assurance (the photo in the programme made me smile), though I hope Hytner doesn't try to be too modern with it.

Lots more Habit of Art dates and bad news for Hareophobes:  The Power of Yes is returning in reponse to public demand.

"The White Guard" looks interesting. Howard Davies is the best director regularly working at NT by some considerable distance.

(apart from Really Old, Like Forty Five, which looks reli good)

Yes, Davies is a wonderful director, and I really enjoyed Andrew Upton's version of Gorki's Philistines (though I read a long piece afterwards from a Russian specialist who argued he had taken far too many liberties with the original).  I suppose something in me wants to know why they are adapting a novel - why can't they just do a play?

It's adapted by Andrew Upton from Bukalov's play, based on his own novel.

Any other priority members out there want to join in the usual chorus of despair about how terrible the website is...? I'm about to be timed out mid-ticket buying for the third time now.

I can't even get that far...that can't be *that* many priority members surely?

6.00pm Update - I've been trying on and off all day and a couple of times have managed to get to the credit card stage but no further  angry.gif  Clearly some people are managing as my chosen date for London Assurance is rapidly selling out but not me (and I'm not even trying anything fancy like two lots of tickets). Anyone actually succeeded?

Armadillo - try calling the National or sending them an email. Apparently the website is knackered not over-stretched, and you are actually booking ticks even though it's telling you you're not. By the time I called and got through I'd inadvertently bought three ticks for the same night (I was after one) and, like you, was getting really ratty about the fact that my chosen seats were being snapped up, when in fact it was me! They are very apologetic about the probs and will cancel unnecessary bookings. Blurb from the website is below - good luck.

Please note: we have been experiencing problems with our ticketing system that have caused the pages to load extremely slowly, or not at all. We apologise for the frustration this may cause. Please be assured that we are working to try and resolve the issues.

If you complete a booking but do not receive a confirmation, please email boxoffice@nationaltheatre.org.uk with the approximate time of your booking, using the email you used to book, and we will confirm your booking. We will be answering emails up to 8pm on Saturday and from noon to 4pm on Sunday.

Thanks for that - you are spot on. I managed to pretty well buy up the stalls for one evening  laugh.gif  All sorted very quickly after an email.
