its happened plenty of times before, especially for shows closing. for transfers then can and have done it before but transferring a show costs so its only doable if its a show thats profitable.

booking dates mean nothing. the show could easily close or (if its deemed worth the cost) transfer theatres before then if they want it

Just happened to watch the lottery draw on BBC1 and who should be drawing the numbers but John Partridge! So does he do this every Sat night? It is clearly "live"! So is it acceptible for a contracted cast member to something else if something "better" comes along? I would have thought he had had enough TV exposure with Eastenders!

Age doesn't matter to me with Che. Seamus was young, but I loved Antonio Bandaras in the film. It's more important that the actor playing him has stage presence, charisma and likeability!

Marti's voice is not the problem. It's his wooden/hammy acting, lack of facial expressions and the fact I just don't like him!

MrBarnaby is clearly the rudest person around. I wonder if he is as rude if we were face to face rather than here. You thesps should clearly lighten up a bit.

If its going to be done, I'd rather it was somewhere more atmospheric.. Or even an Almeida style site specific version or something.

Any projections should be BANNED completely.

It would cost a fortune to redesign the show to sit in a west end theatre and they won't spend that.

I've not seen it and I'm sure it's great, but the brilliant National Theatre version is still pretty fresh in people's minds.

If you haven't seen the production, how do you know what it would cost to re-design? It's a very simple design with the majority of the set on a small revolve and the rest of the stage open and items such as chairs brought on by the actors. It's certainly not a complex set design. The exits/entrances and staging would need re-gigging but certainly nothing too difficult.

I saw this in its previews and we both loved it! We wanted to return to Sheffield to see it once again thinking it wouldn't transfer but it sold out :( so I'm really hopeful of a transfer with or without Mr West!! I think the Gielgud theatre would be a great venue as the show isn't that big and could come in after The Audience finishes in June. But anything is possible in the world of Theatre!

i love the show but i just dont find Damian has any charm as an actor, and bill needs to be endearing. still will be interesting if it comes off.  its a great show and the old fashioned shows seek to be doing well at the moment, its great escapism which a lot of people need at the moment

to be fair, the producers havent helped in how they have handled her schedule. they should have known with her history and reputation what they were getting into.i like Heather but she is a pretty well known diva. considering how desperate she was for a career away from theatre, not performing doesnt give you opportunity to be discovered by wider audience.

whilst sacking her is an extreme comment I dont agree with pampering to performers and there are far more difficult roles out there and so many performers who have done 8 shows a week in demanding roles over the years and have battled through injury and sickness
