Anthony Sher is winning, especially when he puts on the uniform. Unfortunately, the first two thirds of the play is dull. The play must have lost something in translation.

Globe public booking seems to be open at the minute, friends. :)

I loved this. I concur with what Parsley said. The experimental middle section is even funnier, and more corruscating, than the vitriolic opening. The finale is the most difficult section to process, but the idea that self-obsession is turning us into simpering followers, and/or dictatorial puppetmasters, comes through loud and clear. In my view, this is brilliant and funny, albeit experimental, and critics saying it is inferior to Beckett are being silly because everything is inferior to Beckett. :)

This is beyond brilliant. With the caveat that I like Beckett a lot, and my legs were dangling even in Row C facing, this is one of the best things I have ever seen. It really should have an extended life at a bigger theatre, and it should be filmed, or at the very least, recorded for posterity.

I'm sure they will spell out the casting for every night. I saw Frankenstein twice based on the alternate casting, and I booked twice because the NT published the schedule. Had they not done so, I would only have booked once. The producers know they will sell many more tickets at higher prices if they publish the schedule. I think I'll keep my eyes on the SFP website. :)
