The marketing for Ghost whilst it was in London was bad, I was hoping they would have realised this and upped their game for promoting the tour. Do many fans get left in charge of official twitter/Facebook pages or is this the producers being a bit lazy?
I get the sense that when the casting announcement finally comes, the excitement won't quite be there because of how frustrated a lot of people seem to be that it has taken this long. People just want to know now, officially. People have been mentioned on here as being cast, if they can talk about it, can't they just confirm it? I'm waiting until casting is announced before I book, I love the show but the cast needs to make me feel like the show is in safe hands.

Actually this person has been given permission to run those facebook & twitter pages from the powers that be related to the show. A fan yes, but not 'posing', only doing what asked to do.

Went to see Scrooge at the Palladium on Thursday, matinee performance. A group of ladies had been directed to their seats in our row via the side myself & my family were sitting, we were more than happy to let them through so that they could take their seats. Shame the same couldn't be said for the rude, ignorant, grumpy old man next to my dad who turned around & told the ladies to go round the other side of the central block & get to their seats that way. At first I thought he was joking, but he was deadly serious & I have never known such rude behaviour! He did eventually get up & let them through after much huffing, puffing & moaning. We were sat on the end of the row, he was four seats in, he should know that people are going to have to get past him.

Considering Ghost lasted even less time on Broadway than in London with those two as leads, I'd say no it's not because of that. The problem with the show was its high running costs & the ticket sales were just not enough to keep it going. I'd rather see the show go out on a high than carry on with ticket sales declining further, and I believe 6th October was the original booking up til date before the extension to April, so the advance sales hadn't been strong enough either for the extension.
I'll be sad to see it go but it really isn't the show it used to be anymore. When the show first opened the cast were brilliant constantly & the effects were flawless. Now unfortunately some of the effects have become a little sloppy (namely the ensemble in black during the Subway train scenes which I could not see any of the first time I saw it, now I see about 5 easily each time I go which completely ruins the illusion).
I do love this cast, but personally I feel that Marks singing is a lot better than his acting, some times I've seen it there just has not been enough emotion in his performance, it's been very samey the whole way through. I do rate his singing though. Siobhan again is good, but her voice just doesn't seem strong enough for the beltier parts of the score & I really do think Rebecca Trehearn is wasted as the understudy.
But in answer to the question, as much as I would love to speculate it would have had a longer run, no, I don't think it would have.
