Next week I'm seeing this show by Rob Drummond of Bullet Catch fame.
An interesting thing - the Traverse is advising people to not read the reviews, except for that by The Herald. The others all seem to be positive judging by pull-quotes and star ratings but they apparently give away key spoilers.
I started this thread largely in case anyone other than me sees the play and comments here - unlikely though - not so much to discuss reviewers and spoilers which has probably been discussed in depth already elsewhere but I just wanted to mention the Traverse's comments as I hadn't seen a theatre do that before.
I've seen plenty of tweets from audience members praising the show but also warning others not to read any reviews before seeing the show.
I'm not much of a reviews reader anyway. I've heard before that Spencer is the most notorious spoiler merchant.

What Happened To The Regional Forum?

I'm not making this up am I - there used to be a 'Regional' forum on this board didn't there? Where did it go? Was it got rid of, and why? I was absent from the board for some time so maybe something happened during that period.
Theatre Teaser Trailers And Behind-The-Scenes Videos
21 March 2013 - 04:02 PM
Almost every notification email I receive about productions now seems to come with links to teaser trailers and/or videos of rehearsals and other behind the scenes stuff. I never watch them, partly because I always find theatre looks really naff on screen - and that's actual productions, let alone rehearsals - and partly because if it sounds like something I might see, I'd rather wait to actually see it.
But I wondered what others think about these videos, whether anyone does watch them, finds them useful, etc. I don't know if productions do them because it's been shown to work, or because other productions do them, "so we'd better as well".
EDIT: Day after original post - got one from the Rose Kingston, promoting Smack Family Robinson,
- though I can kind of understand that particular venue wanting to let the universe know by any means possible that they also have plays without Judi Dench in.
