Mydidae

07 December 2012 - 12:03 AM

Saw this tonight.  New Jack Thorne play, tucked away at the Soho Theatre Upstairs.  Excellent.  Great acting, two hander, great writing.

Will add more hopefully, but wanted to start this thread.

Other Hands

24 October 2012 - 10:58 PM

Saw this tonight and enjoyed it, so I thought I would throw in a mention for it here.

a 2006 Laura Wade play on at Riverside Studios until Sunday.  It's been touring around Not London and is finish off with a quick run in Studio 3 in Hammersmith.  Should appeal to those who enjoyed Posh.  A 4-hander about relationships, interaction, modern technology and love, I'd say it's well worth having a look at if you at a lose end.

We got a bonus Q+A with the author tonight which was interesting.

You Can Still Make A Killing

20 October 2012 - 12:09 PM

Off to the Southwark Playhouse for this today at late notice.  I thought I would open a thread to celebrate.

Good reviews for this it seems and I'm quite looking forward to it.

Anyone seen/seeing it?

Paines Plough Roundabout Season

15 October 2012 - 11:52 AM

No thread for this makes me a sad panda.

3 new plays, previously staged outside London, now in a pop up venue at Shoreditch Town Hall.  I've seen 2 of the 3 plays so far and both were excellent, in particular Lungs by Duncan Macmilllian, directed by Richard Wilson who I'm told was also good enough to pay for the cushions at the venue!

We were due to see all three shows on the same day, but sadly one had to be cancelled due to some lighting  issues, so we are now seeing that on Friday.

These shows really deserve a wider audience.  I think the capacity is about 100 and generally have not been selling out.

Anyone seen any of these?  If not, had you not heard about it or were you put off by the venue?  I'm interested to know.  Maybe people were missing it on the new NT website?
