Thanks for recommending this. Just seen it and laughed from beginning to end . Only an hour long with two hours worth of laughs.
But crikey the price of a glass of wine in that place is ridiculous.

Well I think that this must have improved a lot since earlier viewings. I thought I was going to hate it but really loved it. The performances were tight and I saw none of the problems with lines or props mentioned before. The scene where Jim was naked just demonstrated his awkwardness and embarassment of the situation he found himself in and I thought the  scene towards the end was ludicrous but enjoyably so. Thoroughly recommend this, the three hours flew by.

I have to agree with Theatresquirrel regarding the 'padding'. Enjoyable but a touch repetitive and  I would have preferred it to be 20 minutes shorter.' which I think it could have easily been. I liked the band especially Phil's rendition of 5 years.

Is there any singing in this? If so, that would explain the mics. They did the same for The Magistrate, though the mics were only used during the musical interludes. All other times they projected, as they should.

Or didn't, in the case of the female cast. I couldn't hear a word they said and left at the interval.

It raises the question if films have age classifications, why doesn't theatre?  I feel sorry for those kids at The Effect, they probably wished they were at Wicked or something. I wonder if any kids saw Mercury Fur at the Trafalgar Studios earlier this year, they're probably still having nightmares.

I'm still having nightmares from that. One of my top 3 of the year.
