#265546 Viva Forever!

I know someone in the show but I'd never even think of talking about his feelings re the closing in public. That'd be just wrong.

#264486 Theatre Blogs And Reviews.

Obviously you are entitled to your opinion on this but so are all the bloggers (who should just stop writing according to you) and the people who actually enjoy reading the various blogs.

I am a blogger myself, however I usually don't put links to my blog on here (unless you count the link in my profil). Why do I blog? Quite simple: Because I enjoy writing and I love writing about my main passion which happens to be theatre. My blog consists of reviews and some interviews with performers. I sometimes write about general things that I feel are worth a mention (my blog post about the WOS Awards actually made it on here - and no,  it wasn't me who posted the link).

I don't want to be a professional writer, I don't want to be famous - I just enjoy writing. Obviously it's great if people enjoy my reviews, interviews and such. But I'm not expecting anyone to be interested - anyone who thinks my blog is a waste of time can just ignore it.

Agree about Tom being a really good Frankie. Ryan will always be my favourite but I've enjoyed a lot of the covers I've seen (especially Michael Conway and Jye Frasca). The only two Frankies not to my liking were/are Scott Monello (although I do give him credit for being a very reliable alternate) and Jon Lee. But that's obviously just my personal preference.

#261353 Rock Of Ages To Close & Move!

I just accidentally found out that there seems to be a production of RoA running in Stockholm: http://www.rockofages.se/

Does anybody have some information (perhaps even seen)? Is this a Swedish version, or the original English one? Just asking, as my Swedish is a bit rusty (one might also say "inexisting"). But as I wanted to visit Stockholm for quite some time now, this might be the perfect excuse...

Am I interpreting it correctly that the show is currently only booking until 25th May?

A friend of mine is playing Stacee Jaxx in the Stockholm production (Peter Johansson, he used to play Galileo in We will rock you at the Dominion years ago). From what I know it's English songs with Swedish dialogues.
They are currently booking until the end of May but Peter said it's quite likely they will extend for another few months. Nothing has been announced yet though.

I've never seen the movie so I can't compare but this show really touched my heart. I agree though that you probably won't enjoy it if you can't connect to the music and the story. Personally I think this show is gorgeous. I've posted a review in my blog in case anyone wants to have a read.

I loved Stephane's Cosmo. I really enjoyed Daniel in the part as well but this role is just perfect for Stephane. He's very funny and his singing and dancing is fantastic. I've seen him in various shows since 1999 and always thought he's at his best when he gets to combine humour and great dancing (like in this show).

#256068 Wos Awards

As much as I think it is good to give the public a chance to "mingle" amongst the nominees I still don't understand how it wasn't possible to reserve enough seats for the nominees in the stalls.
If I had planned this event I would simply have reserved a seat plus one for each nominee. Even if tickets go on sale before the shortlists are announced it is clear how many nominees there will be in each category so there must be a rough idea how many seats will be needed should every nominee (plus one guest) attend.
In order to make sure those seats can still be sold on in case nominees can't make the event there should simply be a RSVP deadline for the nominees. Just tell everyone in order to secure a seat in the stalls they have to RSVP by a certain date, otherwise they might face being seated elsewhere.

But don't let nominees turn up on the night just to find out they are sitting in the upper circle!

Just noticed my blog got a mention on here.

It really was appalling behaviour by Whatsonstage. Obviously it was clear who would be winning in a lot (if not most) of the categories. And usually the winners are notified days before the event anyway.

However, the disrespect shown towards hard working performers who just happen to be a little less "popular" was shocking.

#247362 Theatre Charity Auction

Posted Steffi on 01 December 2012 - 08:07 PM

I've put together a theatre charity auction in aid of The Brain Research Trust. It features signed poster, programmes and posters from various West End shows including Les Mis, Wicked, Jersey Boys, Viva Forever and more. There's also an A Steady Rain playbill signed by Daniel Craig (any James Bond fans on here? ;).

Please have a look, spread the word and bid generously. Would be wonderful to raise lots of money for charity.

Going a week after the first preview in London. Decided to get a £49.50 seat for my first visit (I'm almost certain there will be more as I love the music and the story). Really looking forward to this.

I think Hadley Fraser would be great as The Guy.

I noticed the front row is £19.50 and it seems to be off sale at the moment (at least I couldn't find any available seats and I tried random dates up to August). Has anyone heard if that row may be sold as day seats?
