Since general members booking opened on Monday most weekend performances for Richard II are nearly sold out.
It also seems that the Mantel double bill might well be a huge success too as lots of the double-bill days are also now heavily booked.
I have to say that the 2013 winter season is going to be a mammoth box office for the RSC.
What with this and Matilda their fortunes really have turned around for the foreseeable future.

This was very strange
Quite evil really I thought
But something missing overall
Audience ridiculous screaming and jumping about all over the place, squealing like piglets
Lovely staging but too much use of the revolve
It all fell apart towards the end
What I left with was the reminder how disturbing the novel is

There were 8-9 people in returns line so I hope they managed to resell.
I must comment, you would not think we are in a recession.
Numerous sell outs at Hampstead well ahead of press nights.
Huge queues for Macbeth daily.
Book Of Mormon causing ticketing frenzy.
Peter and Alice and The Audience well booked ahead and one still has not even entered previews.
Othello already sold out in the current booking period at the NT.
It is quite healthy!

Yes I would try if there are any tickets left as it finishes this week.
I agree that it is wonderfully intimate and quaint but I think the standards can fall slightly short of what I am used to at other fringe venues where I pay a similar price.

I think £22 is reasonable...the current show has staging well beyond the effort of most WE plays I have seen.
I don't mind paying this for quality as the theatre has to make some profit and £22 is not bad when you compare to other theatres like Royal Court and Donmar.
I would have balked if the prices had risen without the quality improving but this has not been the case.
Hampstead is my local theatre and many friends have commented enviously that I am lucky to have such an excellent venue within walking distance!
