Fringefan: I realised that you were obviously thinking of making a special trip (lovely idea!), and my thought was just that you can always call late the day before and perhaps get an idea of your chances. That is the thing about "day seats" generally, isn't it, that they are so transitory. Glad you find it so helpful and do tweet what happens @theatremonkey1 #dayseat to assist the live update on the page.

They are trying to be as flexible about "day seats" as they can, while they wait to see what overall demand is like. Better than a "no day seat" policy, I feel. You can always phone before you travel and find out what the latest is

Glad you liked it paplazaroo - it was your thought after all. Good page, Canadian Turtle, and it gave me the idea to add a live twitter feed to mine to keep it up to date. First time I've ever tried Twitter. Theatremonkey1#dayseats I guess. Thanks to you all.

I know it's really annoying when people just keep asking about dayseats but I'm thinking about going down to queue tomorrow morning (friday) any ideas what would be a safe time? i was thinking 7ish but don't want to get out of bed unnecessarily early. While we're on the subject does such a website exist where there is a clear updated status of dayseat lines, like a chart, where you can update it by feeding your information? theatremonkey is great but I don't think it has that capacity at the minute.

Yes, I tried them all when I went - bought T21 in fact, then bought an upgrade when an extra seat became available. Anyway, most of them are excellent, the desk corner isn't really in view. S28 is best, then S21 - only a bit of light perhaps from the computer screens. T21 has no legroom - knees touch the seat in front, while T29 gets light from the computer screens a bit. Good deal, I thought.
