Les Dennis just did a cameo in St Michae's C of E primary production of Cinderella if that counts. It was lovely to be honest, we felt like we were in Love Actually.

Alan Yentob once recounted the true tale of how he once spotted a very famous and successful current rock performer at an airport. In Yentob's gleeful enthusiam, he warmly greeted the icon as they passed. The rock star looked highly embarrassed and uncomfortable and, after  pausing for longer than was polite, responded to Yentob with an insecure, questioning "Salman...?"

Ha ha, Armadillo, very funny. What I, of course, meant was to wonder if anyone could suggest why Salman Rushdie would have an interest to attend this particular show. I can't think of any possible reason he might have had, unless perhaps he was accompanying someone who did have a personal reason.

Salman Rushdie - after offending the powers that be he had to spend years in exile skulking around in countries where he was mostly entirely unknown and unrecognised before finally returning after many years to UK and assuming his position in the cultural elite - maybe he was just there showing support for Adrian Noble ?
