How riffy is she? What's her interpretation like?

She sang it more by the book, no riffs, but it was perfect.

Loved her I'm Not That Girl, she ended on a high note rather than the low, which was a nice touch.

She has a more neutral interpretation than Rachel, not as angry.

Nikki used to always end on the high note too. Loved her 'I'm Not That Girl'.

Glad Louise is doing well so far :) Thanks for the updates. Enjoy act 2!

I'm not a fan of the high note at the end of I'm Not That Girl, it's supposed to be a melancholy, wistful song, so the low note ending fits that better in my mind.  But it's just personal preference, and I'm not judging Louise's performance at all by that - I won't judge it at all until I've seen it, and that won't be until next year as I'm giving the show a long break now.  I could go in December, but I don't fancy dayseating in the cold and don't want to pay full price at the minute.  Plus it means when I do go back I'll be looking at the show completely fresh, not with any recent memories of how great Rachel was (or even of Louise's Glinda considering I saw her the last but one time I saw the show!). :)

Glad Louise is having a good debut/return, I'm sure it must be a great night for her and the rest of the cast, long may their success continue :)

Interval tweets are proving to me why I'm not ready to go back!!

Thrilled Louise is having an amazing debut though. Everyone seems to love her INTG :)

TR252 I quoted the wrong person sorry.  I did not realize it until now.

I meant stevepearman's
"I'd actually like to see Katie as Elphie :)"  I felt it had no place on Louise's first night to already be wanting to see understudies.

Well that was interesting! Louise made a really assured start and will clearly be a safe pair of hands. I thought her NGD was great,  and I enjoyed her general interpretation of the character greatly. But I have to say, I wasn't a massive fan of her TWAI or DG. To my (totally untrained) ear, she was straining for some of the big notes and almost shouting in a way that I don't think Rachel Tucker did. And in many places her voice had more of a 'poppy' tone which I didn't hugely like. But, that's just my opinion and I'm sure others will feel differently. I can't see myself going back to see her time and again like I did with Rachel Tucker but it was solid.

Ben was OK, he makes a good stupid posh boy. His DTL was a little lacking in energy I thought - he seemed a bit out of breath in places - but I'm sure he'll grow into it.

Oh and I have to say, Gina smashed it out of the park again. Amazing how she's grown into the role since January.

Just home from the show.

Part of me loved it... part of me wished I'd waited longer than two days to go back.

For whoever asked about Ben, he's a pretty solid Fiyero and can handle the vocals no problem. DTL was a bit weak and insipid but ALAYM was lovely. He'll definitely improve.
