I doubt she's been asked to do Broadway, and definitely don't think she'd do the tour (even if she's been asked). Just my opinion.

In my opinion if Kerry was then there's every chance Rachel could be. I'm talking in general now by the way and not basing this on that comment she may or may not have said. She's been an incredibly popular Elphaba even if not so much with yourself. (I loved Kerry but do prefer Rachel, and yes I have seen others too :) )

I agree about the tour though, to play Elphaba and be travelling after doing it for 2 and a half years in London, I think that's very unlikely.

I wouldnt have Rachel as my favourite but she is leaps and bounds better than Kerry...Rachel can act.  Broadway wouldnt surprise me, and very few actresses would turn down that chance to appear on Broadway even in a role they have done for a while.

Maybe it will be an equity swap...and we will get former Broadway Elphaba...who knows

As for the UK tour,JOJ and Earl Carpenter did Les Mis and are now doing Phantom and both have played in those longer than Rachel has in Wicked so its not impossible and its probably a well paid gig

I think Philippa Stefani would make an awesome Elphaba!

It has nothing to do with her not being my favourite Elphie, she's actually one of my favourites (out of the 8 I've seen)... I just think cuz she's played it for SO long in London now (longer than Kerry did I believe), it's simply unlikely they'd ask her to continue in the role (on Broadway!)... It can't be good for her voice; even after a couple years, she's recently had to miss a show every week to avoid damaging her voice. She's definitely a popular Elphaba, and deservedly so! That doesn't automatically mean she'll be asked to do the show on Broadway. I still believe there's almost 0% chance of that happening. But if it does, I'll be happy for her :)

Exactly. She's already had over 2 years of playing the role in the West End. Why would she accept to do the tour? Again, I just can't see it. I personally think Rachel's talent shouldn't be limited to Elphaba. I'd love to see her in other things.

I randomly had the idea that Siobhan Dillon could potentially be a good Elphaba some day... What does everyone think?

I know it's not part of the discussion but I'd say it's quite on par with Valjean...

Yeah sorry elphaba is not harder than valjean!!! Sure it has some big sings, but so does valjean plus les mis is sung through. It's also (along with Phantom) physically and emotionally demanding. Elphaba is probably one of the most vocally demanding female roles in London but outside of the big songs it's fun fluff and doesnt compare to les mis

She's fantastic in Ghost. To me I can see her as more of a Glinda but she's got a belt on her that's for sure so Elphie is not impossible!
