OK, this could be a very stupid question and I do recognise the desire for sarcasm (or 'satire') but what's the problem? Is there some law saying you have to see a production you are predisposed to dislike? Why not just not see it and leave it to the Katie Mitchell fans (of whom I am not one, BTW)

I'm seeing this next month. Very interested to see what it's like, having not got along at all with the same writer/director team's current show at the NT. I'd love to come back full of praise for it. Don't look at me like that - it's possible!
In case anyone I argued with in that other thread thinks I'm being sarcastic, I'm really not. I try as far as possible to wipe the slate clean, whether I've loved or hated the previous show. Having had bumpy rides a number of times with KM and MC, the slate is admittedly close to getting indelibly marked, but we'll see.

Not sarcasm, I was just trying it to see what it felt like.
It felt good.

It can be quite a business disentangling the various prejudices on this board. Which of the regulars like Jan Brock, Skylight, Backdrifter, Theatresquirrel etc do and which do not rate Katie Mitchell (or whoever) can make it hard to tease out people's respective -asms (sarc- / enthusi- /org-) from their unreliable postings. Please remember I'm getting on and even my biblically preter-human patience has its limits.

Heh heh heh... well, to be helpful, I'm not prejudiced. It's just that having had un-enjoyable Mitchell and Crimp experiences (separately), I'm wary. But I won't be going into The Jewish Wife thinking "this will be rubbish unless it proves otherwise."

Is this a wind up or is there really a production so described here?
