So excited that the Tabard Theatre is producing a newly rediscovered and adapted version of Patrick Hamilton's 'The Duke in Darkness'! I love Hamilton's 'Hangover Square' and 'Twenty Thousand Streets under the Sea', as well as Hitchcock's hit film 'Rope', and can't wait to see what this new adaptation has in store. It's described as masterly suspenseful and a psychological thriller, and is playing 16th April - 11th May at the Tabard Theatre in Chiswick!

Do you work for the production company, or have they paid you to do their PR?

I'd hope not, because phrases like "can't wait to see what this new adaptation has in store" would make it illegal.
The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, Schedule 1, paragraph 22:
Commercial practices which are in all circumstances considered unfair
22. Falsely claiming or creating the impression that the trader is not acting for purposes relating to his trade, business, craft or profession, or falsely representing oneself as a consumer.
Huzzah!

Sounds good though - I love Gaslight and I have never heard of this.

Mmmm how can you lose a play? Sounds very careless!

Aged 13, I appeared in a junior school production of TDiD in the mid-70s - outside London and neither rediscovered nor adapted. We didn't realise it was "masterly suspenseful and a psychological thriller". We thought it was a Ruritanian romp. Our biggest suspense came when a dead servant wrapped in a sheet was rolled out of a window at the top of the imprisoning tower. I peered down and down, waiting and waiting for a sound effect which never came because the pupil on Sound was too busy smoking away. One of the leads is now long established in Ambridge.

So it would appear that despite "Jodimichelle"'s excitement he or she doesn't know anything about the play,
I'll add this to the list of productions I'm not going to see due to PR sock puppetry. Apologies to Jodi in the unlikely event you exist
