I would love Shrek to open in the West End (last rumour I heard was the Drury in Autumn 2011).
Hated the Little Mermaid when I saw it on Broadway so won't be sorry if that doesn't make it over!!

I heard that Mermaid is to take the Lyceum when the Lion King runs out of steam.

There was a story in the gossip column not so long ago saying that it is likely to come over in 2011. Ironically, Druly Lane seemed like a good home for it, but with Shrek very likely to be going there, not sure where it will go!!!

Would love to see the original Principal Cast over, but can';t see that happening! Especially seeing as equity uk have just let an entire broadway cast into the country and not sent a brittish cast or performers over there in return yet.

I would love to see Nathan Lane as Gomez, on the soundtrack he sounds brilliant! I feel if it did open here the casting would have to be right, and unfortunatley as brilliant as the broadway cast are, I feel they wouldn't be well known enough for such a big, unknown show to be successful in London!

Indeed! Would love if they gave us Nathan Lane at least, I am sure they could really capitilise on the cast for this if they got it right!

Definatly sounds more like an audeinces show though than a critics show!

Shrek will start rehearsals in london in March 2011.

The Michael Ball rumour looks like its proved to be untrue then, as he is doing Sweeney in the summer of 2011.
