I have just blogged a new review and analysis piece about Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark. You may find it here;

Feel free to leave any comments or share your experiences on the blog or here. I'd love to know if I'm alone in my experience of this show...
Many thanks,

I thought it was shockingly bad. Terrible script.. Awful music. The flying was poor (I saw it after all the accidents so the more ambitious flying was cut) and the whole thing descended into a panto by the end.

Excellent blog, I'm heading over on Monday and for lack of alternatives I'll probably end up getting a day seat for this out of morbid curiosity!

I've book to see it at the start of April. I am a comic book nerd, so a spiderman musical seems right up my alley (though I love 80s rock but was underwhelmed by RoA) and the idea of seeing the most expensive Broadway show ever appeal as well.

A great, honest, informed review there sir, though I will defend The Lord of the Rings musical, in so many ways. I wonder how the spidey actors feel.....

Thanks for all the comments, it was a joy to write.
Incidentally, I wrote a retrospective piece as part of a new series called 'What Went Wrong?' It is the first - and only - show I have written about (so far, free time pending!) and here is a link if any LOTR fans are interested in giving it a read;

I was in New York last week and tickets were available at the TKTS booth in Times Square.

Stills seems to have a reasonable attendance despite tkts availability: http://broadwayworld...h.JY0E5wMB.dpbs
