O come on. Red was good, JC was good, the Irish play was good. Just from my first thoughts. I didn't like the one with Dominic West or the one with Jonathan Pryce which just proves to me that a name doesn't always cut it. But over the last few years not too many duds.

I agree the Almeida should get exciting again.

Most of those were Grandage era things.  I think it is probably fair to say that under Rourke the Peter Gill evening, the Dürrenmatt, the Friel (Philadelphia), the Racine and Trelawney have not had the buzz that Mendes and Grandage had from the start (and of that only the Racine and the Friel had the potential to be classic Donmar fare).

But it is early days.  Remember Kevin Spacey's first year or so at the Old Vic?  I think the Macphersons have the potential to be very good.

And were you also surprised by the Grandage Donmar productions outside the Warehouse of Guys and Dolls, Evita, Ivanov, Twelfth Night, Madame de Sade and Hamlet?

Yes, although tickets almost always pop up nearer the time and there's the £10 tickets to come.
