Sophie Evans, the stunning 19 year Welsh star of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘The Wizard of Oz’ has announced the dates of her first solo tour in February. With several performances around the UK, including a double date in London for the girl tipped as ‘one to watch’ on the 26th and 27th February at The Phesantry.
Sophie triumphed in the role of Dorothy in the musical’s run at the London Palladium which came to an end last September. Since then the multi-talented entertainer has been busy pursuing her career, appearing with Russell Watson, Michael Ball and Only Boys Aloud with dates at the Royal Albert Hall , Bridgewater Hall Manchester and The Wales Millennium Centre. Sophie also hosted her own Christmas Special for BBC Wales, and is starring in the new Simon Pegg / Nick Frost / Martin Freeman film ‘The World’s End’ which will be released in the summer of 2013.
Sophie said: “It’s been non-stop since the Wizard of Oz, and now I’m just so excited to go out on the road with my solo show, which will feature a range of my favourite songs, some classics , along with well-loved songs from the shows.”
