Getting Out of The Audience (Five Days) - February 25th - March 1st
Getting Out of The Audience - March 2nd / 3rd
Jonathan Kay is a 21st century Fool. He brings a breath of fresh air whilst his feet are rooted firmly on the ground. Jonathan has refined his foolish work by meeting audiences around the world within their cultures, to create ‘conversations’ that lead to hilarity or introspection in the adventure of Theatre.
As well as performing throughout Europe and the world, and also running his theatre company 'The Nomadic Academy for Fools', Jonathan Kay runs an annual programme of five day and weekend Fooling workshops.
The initial point of entry to the workshops are the weekend workshops that take place in Glastonbury, Somerset. These introductory workshops are called ‘Getting out of the Audience.’
This title is given to the short weekend workshops where you can ‘dip your toes into the water’ and find out what it means to Fool on a stage. A basic level of the structure is offered to participants to start their journey into Fooling. The other workshops last for five days.
The best thing about all the workshops whether you come for a weekend or a week is that you don’t have to have performer aspirations. This suits everyone with an interest to explore themselves and the world of the Fool within a performance space. It has worked with Individuals who were curious, people in Business, Entrepreneurs, Theatre Companies, Actors, Career Professionals and the unemployed, all who were attracted by the nature of Fooling.
It can be a wonderful catalyst for change, knowledge, growth and fun.
