They are actually only following the same pricing structure that the ENO already operates

And in some areas are actually cheaper than what the ENO would normally charge.

Is she even that well known in the UK? How can she command such prices - she's a nobody here, let's face it.

I would think she is actually very well known (among people like us who care about these things, obviously)  not only from her musical theatre work but also from The West Wing, Pushing Daisies, Glee and now The Good Wife. Just being the original Glinda makes her a hero to some.

Having said that, I did gulp at the prices, but I'm hoping it's going to be worth it.

I would have said she's not massively known too - her tv shows haven't been successful and she's not done musical they're over here in years. But at the same time, she's been clever to announce just 4 shows - there will be enough people who want to see her to fill just the 4.

what makes you say its virtually sold out ? I just looked at the London dates and theres over 1,000 seats still available !!!

I think she is well known enough within the musical theatre crowd to fill the theatre and considering that tickets have only been on sale for a very short time are selling well, especially the £100 stalls seats.
I just cant afford that sort of price but have managed to get a seat in the upper circle for £45 which I dont think is bad at all.
Have to say I am really looking forward to seeing her.

I don't think she's as known as Idina, and I don't think even she is that well known here.  And Idina's concerts here weren't a sell-out success.  I expect Kristin won't sell out, but she'll pull in a decent crowd nonetheless.

Kristins face is probably more well known thanks to her tv and film work, but outside theatre fans no one would recognise her actual name and those that know her from tv wouldnt have a desire to see her live.  shes just that blonde that was in that tv programme they watched
