[Emsworthian]

There was a piece by Rupert Christiansen in the "Telegraph" on Monday which refers to the "Gypsy" revival rumours with Imelda Saunton as the mother but he indicates that it will be staged at Chichester and then transfer to the West End "in what is known in the business as a "Chich and in" ".

Some people here have been indicating that it will go straight to the West End.  I'm confused.

So I asked Imelda Staunton tonight and she said that it will probably happen, she'd like to do it and its still in talks with producers. I don't know wether she was just trying to keep it a secret or not,  She was really humble and said she feels bad about doing it because she's never had a super burning desire to play the part and she knows so many actresses have.

Im guessing with todays National Theatre season announcement that this wont be at the National

And do you know, neither is he right, the two nicks were in discussion with Jonathan church but ultimately that couldn't proceed because ATG were in the mix and because of what happened over two guys transfer to the savoy the national and ATG will never never say never work together

What ended up at the Savoy around the same time as 1M2G transferred? Was Legally still running?

Legally Blonde closed in April and The Sunshine Boys took over. The National weirdly don't use ATG venues for their transfers though im sure they use their regional theatres for tours.
