It says it is possible in my profile but I cannot see where I can change my user name ..  can anyone help at all please ?

Click on your name. Go to edit my profile -> display name.

Should work tho' I have never tried it!

Sadly there is no option to change user name - I have looked everywhere - including

• My control panel
  
• → Settings
  
• → Profile Settings

It's unusual to be able to on messageboards though the mods may be able to do it for you. You could start over with a new identity - I believe that's not unknown...

It may well be that the "mod" screen that I see is different but in the Profile settings page that I have there is a menu at the left side:-

Profile settings
*******************
E-mail & Password
***********************
Display name
*****************
etc

and the Display name is changeable upto 3 times within a given period.

The Mods are unable to do this  for you, although Matthew (who has additional powers - think "Alphas" or "Misfits" !) may be able to change your screen name.

It's set up so only moderators can change their names. I will make enquiries.

I was able to change mine, only when I changed my ISP, so I set up a totally new profile.
