I thought I'd start this thread to big up two of the countries best performers who seem to go unnoticed by the general public and theatre goers alike.

I went to the first preview of Days of Hope last night (Kings Head) mainly because it looks like they finally got something decent in there after the Schwartz Stories fiasco!! but I digress......

.....in short Matt Cross was phenominal. He plays a slightly-psycho bloke and actually makes you think he's lost it. I saw him in Our House and he was great too....he can dance incredibly well, has a decent voice and rivals all our best actors....he is defintiely the (new?) kid on the block....

...as for David Burt...I didn;t know much about him but his performance in this was great....his credits are extensive JCS, Chess, Les Mis the lot really....his voice was top notch but again his acting was outstanding....

Worth seeing the show for those two alone....

Any other (unsung!) performers worth mentioning????

I agree!  I saw this the other night.  Matt Cross was AMAZING.  I didn't recognise the name, but did recognise him from Our House - he's got quite a distinctive look.  His performance was so edgy and strong - remarkably so - particularly in that venue.

I liked David Burt very much too - and thought Siobhan McCarthy was great.

To be honest, I'm surprised that there isn't more talk about this piece on the main board (although I suppose it's still in previews).  It has all of the attributes that should make it a real event - and will I imagine prove to be, before too long.

It's SUCH a strong and moving production, and so beautifully written and performed - I particularly liked the music (I wasn't too aware of Goodall's work before).  It was pretty busy when I was there, so word's obviously getting out somehow.....

Matt Cross is AMAZING! I just wish he'd come back with a new run of Our House...

David has a pretty extensive West End pedigree. He was the first Enjolras and the second Anatoly. He was Macheath in the RSC "Beggars Opera" and Pilate in the recent "Superstar". I've always been suprised he isn't a bigger name.
