[Front Row Dress]

Here's me starting a new topic with a link to my blog, but this is honestly such a joyous two hours I was crying at the end for no other reason than it made me so happy. Stephen Ashfield (original London Bib Gaudio) is great and the choreography from Lee Proud (Victor/Victoria at Southwark Playhouse) is incredible. Lovely 1930's pastiche songs and the cutest company you're ever likely to see. If you need to forget the doom and gloom give yourself a treat. Saw the matinee today and LOVED it - what a fantastic show. Do see it if you get the chance. All of the cast are fantastic, it's funny & charming and will brighten anyone's mood. I don't have much to add to the many glowing reviews this show has already (deservedly) received but just wanted to share the extremely good mood I came home in!

How did you find the seating, please?  Discussion of previous productions at this theatre has included mention of how agonising some of the seats are and having experienced this myself, I had decided never to risk it again.  But this sounds so tempting....!

It was a bit cramped & one of the dreaded leg dangling seats (row B ) but I honestly had so much fun I hardly noticed. As I have said before about this venue, I do find the quality of the performances & the opportunity to be so close to the action worth tolerating less-than-ideal seating. But I am quite petite, I think anyone of more generous proportions should be advised to choose where to sit carefully.

It is fantastic though & I would recommend you give it a go.

I have seen the show once during its first week and booked to see it again next week. Absolutely loved it. It's charming and funny and the cast are just wonderful.

On a side note: Stephen Ashfield (Casey O'Brien in the show) is doing a christmas cabaret at Jermyn Street Theatre this Sunday (9th) and on the 16th. Starts at 7:30 pm, tickets are £18 (general admission) and can be booked by calling the theatre.
