I keep seeing 'No 1 UK Tour' in peoples theatre biogs.

What does this actually mean...?

Usually refers to the venues the tour is going to, being level 1, as in the largest venues on the circuit (Birmingham Hippodrome, Bristol Hippodrome, Manchester Palace etc).

There are set venues across the country (usually the biggest) that are classed as number 1 venues. Usually the big shows do these as mentioned above plus edinburgh playhouse, manchester opera house, mayflower southampton, sunderland, cardiff millenium etc
