I saw the first night of American Idiot at the Mayflower
The story is a simple one, but the company did pull all the stops out to convey it to the audience. Although this is based on Green Day's rock opera, all the post 9/11 references seemed to be the background for the three main characters' own stories, which by the end seemed touching. It had a certain Spring Awakening vibe to it. I am not familiar with Green Day yet I enjoyed the music a lot, and I thought the tricks and acrobatics the cast performed were great.
If you don't mind a basic plot this is worth a Low Full Price

I went to see it in Cardiff on Saturday evening and thought it was excellent.
