Put me in the 'boring but not enough to be funny camp'. No drain-murder so maybe they're hoping if they cut a scene a week, they can finsh about 8.30 by November? I suppose it made a change to have a gangster who was good to his old dad but I'm really struggling to think of any redeeming features. Is it booking for the next season?

It's running (and booking) 'til the 17th December I think. It extended in the most recently announced season (People, The Effect etc), before previews had started. I suspect it'll have to finish its run- too embarassing to close it early, and what would they fill the Olivier with? Timon has confirmed closure (and SRB has to go off to do Privates on Parade), and The Magistrate hasn't even opened yet.

And there's the product placement to consider

Haha! So, every NT Shakespeare from now on in modern dress then.... (not that that's a big change).
Did you see it tonight Armadillo? Was there fire? I'm hearing through twitter that the best bit may have been cut...

Somewhat unfortunate that the start of this "exciting collaboration" is the NT's biggest turkey in living memory. I hope that the "exciting collaboration" didn't dictate the style of the production, because it did seem a little odd when we jumped from monks' habits to modern dress after the first scene.

As luck would have it, I'm at the Donmar that evening and those things are quite short, aren't they? Might be fun!
Won't have seen the production though... my ticket is for 29th Nov.

Really? The fire was my favourite moment. I was in the first row and could feel the heat - it definitely woke me up,

If they have cut the fire then everyone's going to wonder what the budget went on, with the flat-pack scenery and all!
