You can generally tell by the response on this board and the press if a production is v v good, average or bad. True, you can never really find out 'til you see it for yourself, but you always have an idea if it's a 5* knock out or just ok.

How close has a Doctor Who got to major stage Lear?  Sylvester McCoy was fool to Ian McKellen, as so memorably recounted in David Weston's book.   But has a former Doctor given us his Lear?

What indicates deep inner turmoil, in real life and in fiction, is a person who has a beard but then shaves it off or vice versa. The examples are legion, Tiger Woods, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Joaquin Phoenix .....
