I'm a member at NOBY and while I hardly post there, I get angry that that forum gets all the flack and they are not the crazy ones, most of the girls there are actually genuinely nice people. It's the other forum thats the crazy place.

And I think Cat meant that she didn't like that they were being mean about Andy as a person. It's fine if they don't like him as a performer on that stage because as you said, everyone is allowed their own opinion. But labelling him as a jerk is out of order, they don't know him offstage afterall.

Well I was there and I don't remember anyone labeling him as a jerk however I may be wrong as sometimes you dont hear everything. But I do know people who really don't like him. I think that he has every right just to walk away from stage door if he wants to as he does have a young baby at home and a family. I also think that everyone else has the right not to go down the line either.

I was a member on NOBY but found it way too cliquey. This was over a year ago tho so it might have changed, but i specifically remember eventually leaving because they were discussing the defying gravity from Kerrys album which theyd obviously shared with each other and i asked if theyd send it me. No one even responded, they just carried on talking. It just echoes the snobby behaviour so many fans have and their idea that you have to be part of their group to be entitled to things :S

I'm sure the majority are lovely, but I know that some of them are the people being described in this thread. The ones who the cast complained about for being loud all the time on the front row are from that forum.

I know some of the people that were supposedly complained about by cast members and they are not on the NOBY forum only one of them was from the NOBY forum. There are so many rumours going around about being people being complained about and it is turning in to chinese whispers. I was on the front row when people were complained about and I have never been with many of those people since and have never had a problem since. I now go with people that don't talk in a show and who don#t screek when they laugh.

I don't understand why people don't tell them to shut up either. I've never had any problems, but if one of them tried to talk down to me I'd certainly alert them that some people have lives outside Wicked and have better things to do than arranging the next camping trip while discussing Kerry Ellis' hair and dog on a pretentious forum.

I laughed out loud at this. The tragic thing is, its 100% true... they do discuss such things.

You know, ultimately, we can ridicule until the cows come home, and how they choose to live their life is up to them, that's true... but I think the thing that bothers the majority of people the most and why I'd argue against the 'if you don't like it, don't go' line is that they do ruin it for the rest, and while all of us may be at the show as much as we want, love the show as much as we want, and even SD as much as we want... its not a God-given right, it is an IMMENSE privilege, and should be treated as such.

I'm still shocked that people would actually say that. I've never actually encountered these kind of people, the worst I've seen from NOBY is when half of them camped out and some of their friends appeared and pushed in to the front with them. Although what bothered me much more than their pushing in was the dirty look they gave the rest of the queue as they walked by. Suffice to say I'd rant a bit more, but I don't think you can do the 'name and shame' thing on here. But to say to someone they don't deserve to be there... as fangirls normally go out of their way to defend their behaviour, I'd like to see how they go about defending that.

I think everyone is right that maybe we have done this topic into the ground now. To be honest i would never let all this stuff ruin the show for me i love it to much and im in my own little world concentrating when im there. Also to be honest at the end of the day id rather be part of a audience that is over the top than one that is completely dead. The only thing these girls affect ultimately for me is that i feel tight going to stage door but maybe thats something i should forget about and if i feel the desire to go and say hi, and thanks for a great show to the cast maybe i should just go, and ignore anyone else there that is of the 'fangirl' variety. I have to stress that i dont have a problem with many of the fangirls because most of them are im sure totally fine and lovely girls who love the show. Its just the one or two that do slightly odd things.

Well I have had no problems with the members at NOBY and think people should stop assuming that the troublemakers come from one place.

The bottom line is that everyone deserves to be there, fangirl or not.

Actually, I think only everyone that behaves respectfully deserves to be there.

Yes. But the theatre don't exactly set a good example by allowing such behaviour to happen in the first place.
