and I may be wrong here, but isn't the whole point of 'One' that it is not the actual literal number from the show they were auditioning for/rehearsing, but more a metaphorical tribute to the dancer, the performer.It makes sense to me to have the actor playing thedirector there - does this production play him as the director then, or is he another dancer. Remember it has all the cast, even the characters that failed. Well they are not characters during 'One' - they are dancers. The last few minutes are a hymn to every dancer, and not to be seen as the resolution of the plot - that happened with the announcement of the last few names. That's how I have always read it, since I first saw the original production.

I saw this at the first preview on Tuesday and enjoyed it very much. Excellent performances all around, kicking band.

It's only the second time I've seen a production of A Chorus Line, the first one being on Broadway in 1983.

My memory is a bit hazy after almost thirty years but I seem to recall that we never actually saw Zach then, only heard his voice... Would that be correct?

Crtainly in every stage version I have seen Zach stays at the back and only appears at the curtain call

I haven't seen this production yet but surely Zach is onstage at the beginning to run through the opening dance routine.  All Zachs have to dance at least a little bit.

Larry can demonstrate the dance at the start with Zach shouting.

But John is a great dancer and I liked the way they used him.

The video is from Dancing With The Stars, of course, but it is with the revival (Every Little Step) cast.  Whatever, Mario looks okay!  Thanks for posting this.

Well I just wish I could dance as "badly" as Mario!

I was lucky enough ( and old enough ) to see the original broadway cast in ACL at Drury Lane. It was a knockout. The early reviews on the current production seem great and cannot wait to see the show later this week.
