Hi all, I've been reading this forum for a while but this is my first post.
Overall, It was a really great show yesterday and a very warm welcome from the audience who cheered throughout the entire performance.
My favorites were "What I did for love" performed by Dianna (Victoria Hamilton-Barrit) and Company and "Gimme the ball" with Richie (James T Lane) taking the lead. The only parts which could have been stronger are "Dance 10, Looks 3" -- where the actress (Rebecca Herszenhorn) looked a bit nervous, and Paul's monologue (Gary Wood) when he told a story about his parents seeing him in a drag show was made much more touching in the film than on stage.
The stage is indeed quite high. I was sitting in Row D and still couldn't see the floor. The view was further obstructed by a tall man sitting in front of me. In the front row the stage would be about 1 foot above the eye level. Not sure if action taking place at the back of the stage would be seen well. Would really recommend viewing from the dress circle.
