Maybe provision for coats, bags, etc has been necessary to avoid the cast tripping over things, if the audience members are are close to the action as it sounds?

We definitely had seat envy, especially as, from the second level end view, I found that resting my chin on the metal rail seemed to be the most comfortable position to see...sit back and the railings obscure the view.

I'm on a sofa I think- sounds like it's worth the extra month's wait!

I think I must now also be on a settee, though annoyed at having to pay a surcharge to change my seat, given that when I originally booked, there was only the one ticket available and I couldn't see where it was.  Shall have to count myself lucky to have it and bear in mind that I'm apparently paying for my possessions to sit down, too!

No, if you are downstairs you are close, particularly at times if you are by the tables but not THAT close that the cast are at risk of tripping, more likely from outstretched legs than coats. On the other hand stumbleing around upstairs trying to get to our seats much better falling over risk, if you are in S it's either end, we found it on our second lap of the theatre.

Has anybody got a seating plan for The Effect?
Just curious to find out for my visit in January if I am likely to be on a Settee of not.

I think all the pit seats were settees (from the giddy heights of level 2 I couldn't see under the overhang on my side, but I didn't see any non-settee options in the pit).  If you're on level 1 or 2, you'll get the ordinary Cottesloe tip-up seating.

Seating plan was on NT website last time I looked, though it wasn't there when booking opened.

I really enjoyed this, A very interesting premise for a play, well acted and I didn't realise it was going to be so funny. My only criticism would be the length, could easily be half an hour shorter, my mind did start to wander towards the end. Beautifully staged though.
Whilst I had been prepared for male nudity I hadn't bargained for said male becoming 'aroused'. Miss Piper should take that as a compliment.

"The Effect" indeed.

Thanks, I did have a look but could not find a specific one for The Effect. I might have another look.
But I think my question has been answered by Beth above.

Thanks, I am in the Pit so sounds like I will probably be on a settee then. :-)
