Hmm. Are you sure you didn't get confused with Kathryn JENKINS?! Last time i checked Miss Evans was quite a good musical theatre performer. No Jenkins - that would be worrying! Either way it's trivial now as there are issues with the rights etc.

Absolutely. David Ian is having trouble securing the rights to the show over here and he doesn't have as much weight as other producers (or money) to pull it in.

Does that mean someone else has the rights and has plans to use them?  Not necessarily the recent bway Gypsy, but Gypsy in general

Not necessarily. It could just be that the rights-holders aren't willing to give permission for a production to be mounted.

And David Ian was one of the Producers of the Broadway show - not one of the lead Producers by the way but still a Producer, so its curious that he can't get the rights........

Well everyone was talking about it needind a name and publicity. Maybe he's thinking about a reality tv show? would put me off giving him the rights!
