A bit of a random one perhaps but does anyone know whats happened to Charles Spencer theatre critic of Daily Telegraph? He seems to have gone awol, hasn't written anything in over a month.
Is he just on an extended holiday or has he left? Anyone konw and can shed some light on the matter.

I wondered that. He was supposed to take part in a critics' panel discussion at Chichester on 12 July but was absent. When I asked the theatre why they just said he was unable to attend.

Oh dear, I hadn't noticed except I saw the other one had written the Timon review. Hope he is well.

Me as well. Even though I don't always come from the same viewpoint I always enjoy his reviews!
And Lynette the other one is 'Dominic Cavendish'

I hope he's OK. Nothing on the website credited to him since 18 June (about country dancing).
While I'm not sure how closely our political views align, his theatrical taste seems to reflect mine most of the time. I would never have gone to see The Lieutenant of Inishmore and Coram Boy if it hadn't been for his reviews, and they are some of the best things I've ever seen.

I wouldn't say a word that could be reckoned as injurious,
But to find a mother younger than her son is very curious,
And that's the kind of mother that is usually spurious.

His final paragraph reads: "Forget old Bax and give country dancing a try should you have a chance to do so. I’d still steer well clear of incest, though." Perhaps he eventually succumbed to the latter and is now in custody.

I've noticed he often has quite a long break in early summer before going to Edinburgh for a month. Alternatively, he's fallen off the wagon and had to go back to the Priory.
Seriously, hope he is OK as I miss his reviews too.

He wasn't on the monthly Theatrevoice panel discussion this month- replaced by his colleague Dominic Cavendish.
