The show has been cast already with Liam tamne, Adrian hansel, verity rushworth, and a few others I saw it on a website
they probably were still on a hairspray fanpage.

Doesn't really matter anyway - seems he's going back into We Will Rock You so it won't be him.

I agree. People Chinese whispering all over the shop! Kerry Ellis, Sabrina aloueche, Jodie Jacobs, Jenna Lee James, Sharon d Clarke, Ramin karimloo, Ross hunter, mig ayesha!!!! Come on guys! We all like who we like but auditions have not started yet! Hold yer horses!
Totally agree!
Let's have 1 name to sell it, and the rest NEWBIES.
Sick of seeing the same old faces leapfrogging from show to show. I hope ROA will not be a mix mash of old WWRU ex cast just because it's a rock show :(

well, its slightly hard to cast a ROCK SHOW with a cast of people who are sopranos, or mixed twang... predominantly a show is defined by it's performers, who are chosen for its music. a performer in phantom is probably unlikely to belt like a rock star.
show's like wicked take on rock you casts for its leads, ie, KERRY ELLIS, RACHEL TUCKER... as they have been proven to sing rock songs 8 times a week.
i hope they DO cast a "bunch of ex rock you casts" as i believe they have the best sound for a show like this. they all have a raw edge. most of the leads are untrained (ie- have not been to stage school) and they all have their own sound unlike many many other west end shows that all sound like stagey clones.

fingers crossed they do look at the people mentioned above as they are well qualified. the phrase "jumping from show to show" is used rather flippantly. i would not use that phrase for a group of people who have worked their arses off for many years.

I think that's incredibly insulting to all the ex-WWRY cast mentioned who have all worked in the business for years.  And it's not as if they're not versatile performers - Kerry Ellis has played Fantine in Les Mis and sung Svetlana in Chess, vastly different roles to Meat or Elphaba, for example.

If ex-WWRY cast members do get cast in Rock of Ages (and I hope several of them, like Sabrina or Ross, do) then it'll be because they're the best people for the job, and surely having been in a show like WWRY or Wicked will be of benefit to Rock of Ages cast members - the show needs a strong cast if it wants a chance of getting a long run, and if a lot of the cast have experience of the stamina required to sustain a high-intensity or a rock show for 8 shows a week, that can only be a good thing.
