According to the Guardian, originally Mangan sported a tumescent prosthesis, but it was cut during previews (ouch!)

Loved Stephen Mangan but thought the play was less of a play and more of a sketch. The Royal Court doesn't always get it right then it would seem, but I suppose that's the point of the place, it takes risks. Anyone seen the play upstairs?

Upstairs is dark at the moment Theatrebunny. I saw The Witness, the last thing that was upstairs. It was very good. Excellent performances, one of the best sets of the year and I think the playwright is one to watch after this and Mogadishu. The only thing was it was a touch one sided in it's views on war photography.
If, for some strange reason you care what I've seen, it's all here:

Damn, shame I missed it. What would you reccommend booking for in their next season?

You will definitely be wanting to book in advance for The River.

This was ultimately a bit disappointing. It made me laugh a lot but as already said it really is a one joke play. Shame really as there were a couple of moments when the play threatened to explore things a bit deeper and felt as though we were going to be privy to more detail about the characters but then.....pause....and Mangan was off again with perfect comic timing and a wisecrack.
As others have said loved the midwife.
So, nearly a play but needed to have more depths and surprise us more.

The midwife is in several episodes of Ab Fab, basically playing the same character
