Yes, I guess the script for Frankenstein was deemed not important enough to delay the whole show!

Presumably they knew it was a 1200 page novel when they decided to adapt it!

Not really, it happens all the time - the refreshing bit is that they decided not to inflict it on us. But it will be interesting to see what family show can be ready to replace it at relatively short notice.
